Fox & Friends co-hosts want Pete Hegseth to sue ex-NAACP lawyer Sherrilyn Ifill for calling him a “white supremacist” after Donald Trump named him as his pick as the Secretary of the Defense Department.
During an appearance on All In with Chris Hayes on MSNBC, Ifill said:
IFILL: This is someone who, you know, is known to be a white supremacist, known to be an extremist, whose platform and book basically about his opposition to the advancement of Black officers to the top brass. And the military is a important area for Black advancement. And so, him selecting that particular person, and by the way the Department of Defense has 3 million employees. There’s no evidence this man has run anything. The fact he’s a veteran is simply insufficient.
HAYES: I would say that Hegseth would say, that he would deny he was a white supremacist. I want to put that in the record.
IFILL: So did Trump.
Pete Hegseth is unqualified for the DoD position for a number of reasons, including the fact that he does not have the experience needed for the job. Further, he is mired in allegations of rape and public intoxication. The Daily Mail reports he paid off a woman who accused him of rape and he was set to be drunk when the incident occurred. He was also barred from National Guard duty during President Joe Biden’s inauguration because of the tattoos he sported. Some have said the Jerusalem Cross has ties to white supremacy.
Hegseth pushed back against the white supremacy allegations. “Anti-Christian bigotry in the media on full display.” “They can target me — I don’t give a damn — but this type of targeting of Christians, conservatives, patriots and everyday Americans will stop on DAY ONE at [Donald Trump’s] DoD,” he wrote in a post on Twitter, now known as X. Um, he does give a damn because he’s pushing back.
Amen @JDVance. Anti-Christian bigotry in the media on full display.
They can target me — I don’t give a damn — but this type of targeting of Christians, conservatives, patriots and everyday Americans will stop on DAY ONE at DJT’s DoD. https://t.co/TCZVWsxEAS

It’s no surprise that the co-hosts of Fox & Friends want Pete Hegseth to sue Sherrilyn Ifill for calling him a white supremacist. They love to play the victim.
Hayes issued a disclaimer after Ifill made the comments on his show.
